Breast fibroadenoma is a benign breast disease that generally affects young women within a period of 20 years after puberty to early menstruation.
In 15% of cases it is multicentre or bilateral or it can be present in multiple sites in the same breast or in both.
Fibroadenomas are rare in postmenopausal women except those who take estrogen.
Diagnosis is often random: with self-climbing or during breast examination, a relatively hard, relatively mobile, variable size nodule is detected (I have removed fibroadenomas up to 6 cm in diameter!) And the confirmation will be given by the Eclipse or the 'Gonadotropic mammary.
The treatment can be conservative if the size does not exceed 2 cm and if there are no doubt.
In other cases, a surgical removal is performed.
Surgical Techniques Generally I performed local anesthesia and day hospital operation  with anesthetic infiltration in the area to be operated and without hospitalization.
The surgical incision will respect the aesthetics of the breast and, where possible, will fall in the peripheral area between the dark area  the one around the nipple, and the clear breast area.
The stitch also will be applied according to a particular technique that leaves no signs in the clear zone called Algower stitches.
In this way the scar will be  invisible.
